WEBSITE: PRESS RELEASE: FICTION: Good Friday 2nd April 2010 Can you believe it’s been getting on for three years since ‘last orders’ were called on Fiction; the Friday nighter that broke all the rules, ran against the mould and yet provided Londoners with the perfect gateway into every weekend. Over the course of eight memorable years, literally hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life, descended upon The Cross at King’s Cross and gave it their all. Fast-forward 3 years and The Cross is no more. Where we once danced, the workmen continue to build and Eurostar trains hurtle past on the half hour… How things have changed eh? So, as we head into a slightly delayed Spring, we thought we’d delve deep into the past, look towards the future and throw you a one off Reunion party you’re not going to want to miss. We’re not doing this lightly, far from it. We’ve read dozens of emails and comments sent to us on facebook and by mail and you’ve been thinking what we’ve been thinking – King’s Cross!! We’ve found a venue that is evocative of the Cross, and the only place that could do the Fiction Reunion a real justice. The Driver, owned by the same people who made the Cross what it was for over 10 years, boasts four floors, a terrace and balcony, a tried and tested sound system and is smattered with décor and memorabilia hand plucked from The Cross – making it the perfect place for recreating those Fictional Friday nights! As for the soundtrack – we couldn’t do this without those DJs who contributed to and made Fridays so much fun for 8 years of Friday night hedonism. And so, much like we did with our farewell party, we’ve invited them back, almost all of them & they’re diggin’ out some old tunes too!. This is set to be an unforgettable night!! In addition to this, the first 100 people through the door can take home a piece of clubbing history with them! The Cross Coffee Table Book was put together to celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of The Cross. It’s packed with pictures and the people who made The Cross so, so special, this is something you won’t want to miss out on!
