FAQ

WHAT IS THE A-LIST? If you need to ask that, then you are not on it.

DON'T YOU THINK THE SITE IS A BIT PRETENTIOUS? The answer to that depends on who is asking. The word pretentious is often used by those who have a shortfall between 'wanting' to be part of something and the 'lack of confidence' in believing they do. Instead of addressing this issue, they would rather avoid their self-esteem conflict by calling others pretentious. In any case, is a web site aimed at exclusively at the leather scene, or a women only website, or a car site that only features Jaguars to the exclusion of others called pretentious? Like these specialist sites, SQ is aimed at the worlds gay a-list. They know who they are. Anyone in the world can access the site. You DO NOT need to be a registered member and there are no restrictions as to who can view what. It is basically open to everybody. Some will 'get it', others won't. Although any one can access the site, you will know you belong as soon as you enter.

HOW DOES A CLUB MAKE THE 'A-LIST'? It is important to note that SQ is NOT a free club listing site. The clubs that are featured on the site are there because we are recommending them. They fulfil certain criteria we feel that then can be recommended to our peers. The core of Seen Queen is made up of four people who decide which clubs they will recommend. Perhaps the best know of these four is Brent Nicholls who is a DJ on the gay scene. The other three have decided to remian anonymous and often use psuedonms. Each person has a single vote except for the webmaster & designer, Brent Nicholls, who's vote is worth two (after all, he is the one who has to do all the work to add or take a club off the site). In order for a club to be listed it needs to get a vote of 4-1. For it to be removed it will need a vote of 3-2 against it. A club can also be removed from the site if it is not supported by clubbers during the annual CLUB POLL by scoring the lowest and not reaching a certain number of votes. The site is meant to reflect those who use it. If you don't like our choice, then please feel free to create your own website. That is exactly what we did!
