PARIS, without a doubt is one of the most romantic cities in the world and with some of the hottest men...add to that an international styled Pool Party and you have a recipe for pure hedonism. We catch up with Spirit of Star's Michel Mau to find out more about the pool party phenomenon that is grabbing a lot of London's and the world's gAylisters attention.

1. How did you come up with the concept 'Super Size Pool Party'?

Since several years I have been attending the most popular pool parties around the world. The one at Rio carnival, the ones in Ibiza, Barcelona, etc. So I started to look up for a venue in Paris to host a Pool Party to try to bring this concept to my city. We had the opportunity to use the Aquaboulevard which is the biggest Indoor WaterPark in Europe.

We were looking for a huge venue to organize Paris’ first real circuit event and so this was the ideal place… There is a huge playground with toboggans, Giant waves, Jacuzzis, and the whole center is  covered and heated at a tropical temperature of 29° (inside and outside the water). It also has a large outdoor playground.

The event is happening twice a year on a Saturday (April and September) so it is perfect to celebrate the end of winter, or to show off our summer tan- lines. All the attractions are open between 21h30 and midnights but due to the French regulations we have to close the Swimming Pools when the bars start to sell alcohol at 00h30.

The location is great: the venue is inside Paris and very accessible by tube. It is also the perfect occasion to visit Paris, it is so easy now with Eurostar (only 2h30) and there are incredible low rates called Club Trip fares at 50£ returns (departing on Saturday night and returning Sunday morning). The perfect occasion to come clubbing in Paris!

2. How did the first two events go?l

The two first events went very well. There are more and more people attending (we recommend the people to book there tickets online www.spiritofstar.com before if they are planning to come, and we had a very good feedback from the participants. I would say that is was a magic moment as it was like having a summer holiday Party with a lot of hot boys from all over the world in speedos.

3. Who came to this party, just Parisians? Europeans, Americans?

Well we really have a lot of people coming from all Over the world. Especially since Paris is becoming very multicultural…  We are also benefiting from a large international communication network. We had a lot of people from all over France and a lot of Europeans (Londoners, Belgians, Spaniards, Swiss, Germans …)

4. What do you hope for the future in respect to this party?

Well Super Size Pool Party is going to happen twice a year (April and September). We have also a lot of Projects and we are working on an Event in London for 2010. 5. What can we expect from the April party?

Well the Spirit will be the same. In the first part, all the water attractions will be available as well as live Djs. In the second part, the water park will turn into a huge tropical Dancefloor.
But as we are now more familiar with the venue we will have a bigger place for the live shows (more performances).

6. Can you give me a brief history of you as a promoter?

I have a four year degree in communication and I chose to work in Night Life by passion. I was really wishing to develop qualitative party in Paris for a Gay crowd; So I launched my label Spirit Of Star in may 2000 (almost 10 years ago already).

Since that we developed a lot of Parties in very cool venues like Finally, Kaliente @ Maxim’s, Season Lounge @ Printemps …

And we also organized a lot of parties Worldwide  (Space Of Sound Madrid , Pacha Ibiza, Amsterdam …) and was looking since a long time to launch something in London and bring the Parisian crowd to party again on the London Dance Floors.

The 3rd edition of the Pool Party Paris is finally set!
On Saturday April 10th 2010, Barcelona, Miami, Ibiza or Rio will be back in Paris.
A night to remember with an exceptionnal program including clubbing, shows, water activities and swimming.
The Pool Party phenomenon is without a doubt the event of the year.
A unique party set up in a magical and exotic place… A one of a kind experience for one night with the best DJ’s.
3 000 clubbers expected to attend the event will be dancing the night away in summer clothing, in and on the most unusual dancefloor.
With this party, Michel Mau (Spirit Of Star) and Aurel Devil make their mark as the New Wave of clubbing in Europe.
