For over 6 years Megawoof has been bringing to London a 100% testosterone filled men only club night. Self titled the 'Hunks That Funk' Megawoof started off as a bear night but has grown into so much more. Bears still go there, on mass, but it also attracts a circuit, hunky, muscle pumped, skater boy, skin head and a taste for leather crowd. It's music policy is controlled by it;s two co-promoters Daz & Diddy who inject into the night a unique music policy that is not heard elsewhere on the gay scene. Add to that one of the gAylists favourite DJs Pagano and you have a soundtrack that is very Megawoof.

With PRIDE on the approach Megawoof is set to throw it's own PRIDE party at it's home 'The Coliseum'. With gays out in full force at Pride expect this event to a gathering of the Bears, hunks and men who want to celebrate Pride with men.

Seen Queen catches up with promoter & DJ Daz to find out how the whole 'Mega' thing going.

1.       How and why did you come up with the concept of Megawoof?

"the concept of woof came about just be accident really. While  at a friends birthday party in the Lifthouse the manager a friend of ours  just said why dont you two do something here and we thought hmm yeah why not  so the ball started to roll. We wanted to play the music we love too the kind of sexy men we love too... and that  was basically it. I think thats why we have one of if not the sexiest crowd in London. "hunks who funk"

2.       What makes Megawoof a unique clubbing experience?  

"Megawoofs unique clubbing experience comes from the music & the men. Its  sexually charged which people say that they dont get that an other events. The djs are handpicked for the style and not popularity so the music flows and they all compliment each other."

3.       As a DJ, how would you describe your sound?

"As a dj i play all kinds of house music, i was mainly known for funky techno back in the day but also loved to play tech house so my sounds if a mixture house/disco/techno all blended together. I rarely dj  at other venues these days  as Megawoof keeps me busy."

4.       What do you think of the current clubbing climate and the state of the London gay scene?

Oh that question... well it changes often, but currently it seems the spanish armada  has taken over club land. Its better now that there is something for eveyone here in london which you don't  find in other cities.

5.       What is your relationship, apart from co-promtoer, with Diddy?

"Diddy and I have been friends from early Trade days. We hooked up and started to produce and run a record label together and hanging out. We generally don't have arguments as we have a similar idea about where and what  we would like to do with Megawoof. We sometimes have arguments with the production as i end up doing all the  work..:-) its all good."

DAZ- promoter & DJ

After getting his big break at the seminal Troll club in the late 80s Daz Saund progressed to become resident at the immensely popular Garage at Heaven nightclub and then his three-year residency at the legendary Trade at Turnmills, where he made his mark as one of Britain's leading techno artists. Daz's reputation rapidly spread throughout the UK, Europe and the Far East, playing at monumental events such as Love Parade, Mayday and TribalGathering in the UK. In 1995 Daz was voted Best International DJ of the year by FrontPage Magazine, he remains at the forefront of today's techno-dance scene as a figure greatly admired world over.
